Celebrating the Coal Miners History and Merchants of Black Diamond

Historic Railroad Avenue is closed for this annual event held in July. The street is always buzzing with lots of activity.

The Black Diamond Historical Society or “Hysterical Society” puts on a great old-fashioned skit. Vendors line the street selling everything from antiques to crafts and much more. Local city, fire and other civic organizations are in booths providing great information and entertainment.

The restored Black Diamond 1947 Howard Cooper Fire Engine is on hand, along with great music. Events included a 5K race, a donut eating contest, a pet parade, and a chalk-in artist competition. The museum is open for the day for visitors. Over 500 visitors joined in our 2023 celebration. Don’t miss this great event next year.
